Have you heard their latest album? I think it's pretty good but i would not call it grindcore. It's metal with blastbeats. Actually all the bands you mentioned above plays metal with blastbeats. Grindcore is and will always be hardcorepunk.

grindcore is very influenced by punk anyway dude...don't bother your mind with tags so much, yeah ok i know lot of people put disrupt together with bands like bombenalarm, audio kollaps or amebix which is fine...but under the same tag (crust) you can also find disfear or skitsystem!!! Who gives a shit anyway...

Who gives a shit anyway... I know and it's sometimes pretty nifty to tag every band in some genre. For me it's just easier to get hold on the bands musical style and if there's multiple bands with the same name. Oh, i wouldn't count Disfear in Crust section. Maybe D-Beat or something. But yeah, it's about the music not the name of style they're playing.

Agreed, genre styles, tags, whatever isn't so much about the importance of the 'genre' but rather to let people who don't know the band at least get an idea of what the band plays. If I see an interesting album of a band I've never heard of but it's labeled as 'Brutal Slamming Deathcore' I don't have to waste my time on it. All the sub-sub and made-up genres are bullshit but at least I know if the band plays Grindcore I'll be more what I'm looking for.

I've seen a Axe Metal, Sword Metal, Toxicore and so on. THE FUCK?! Example: If you play Folk Metal. You name your music as Axe Metal. Then you have to come up with new genre and come up new stuff for that genre. If not, you still are a Folk Metal band, unless you come up something very unique with your stuff. If you do come up something unique, then you can call your stuff as Axe Metal or what ever you want.

| So fucking true Niko! +1!!
It's really stupid.. I mean, when some people just do it, it can be fun..but when bands seriously deny that they play grind and say theyre playing vomitorial faecalinfected grind or something, its just gay! even if it can be fun to just use that explanation for fun, thats a different thing

Im really curious why you like Embalming Theatre! Are they really one of your favorite grind bands? I don't think they're bad but there are so many better bands that play the same style. The riffs are very basic and simple, pretty bad sound (and not in the cool way), ugly coverart, etc. hehe

No other band has used that concept to build their style around. At least none that I've heard of? Not to mention they pick the most obscure and fucked up events possible. Hope this answers your question in more detail. Their riffs might also be somewhat generic but they incorporate them in such a brutal way (very chuggingly and catchy) at most times.

| I am familiar with Dahmer and Macabre in fact I'm very much into these bands also, never got into Cretin, Fuck Relapse! even Macabre is getting a little too corny. Hail "Dog Guts" and "Hitchhiker"! The only dif. is that Dahmer and Macabre built their lyric style around Serial Killers. Embalming Theatre are more unique in the fact that their stories are about really "obscure" morbid shit, shit I would have never even heard of or known about. "Get High On A Dead Dog" - Some poor woman's dog's ashes get stolen from an urn by burglars who mistaken it for cocaine and snort it or "Failed And Nailed" - A girl goes outside to play instead of doing her house chores so her mother punishes her by nailing her foot to the floor. The list goes on, I can't help but not love this band. | |
