I met Rugge from Regurgitate a feew weeks ago and we talked about starting a oldschool grindcore-band next year. It will be noisy as hell, only onefoot-blast (ala Mick Harris), no crappy cd-releases and no shitty festivalgigs.

Fuck that shit. New Regurgitate is just Nasum/Rotten Sound/Gadget/every other nu-grind band, but with pitch-shifted vox. Nothing special imo, just bores the shit out of me. Not starting shit with anybody, but I think it's fucked up how people in more popular bands do shit that's not necessarily "new" or "innovating"/"groundbreaking", and the masses drool over it. Like how idiots think all of the Cattle Decap side-bands are "some of the best and most lyrically unique heavy-music bands" because they have pro-animal themes, even though that's been done fuckloads of times before by punk bands since before Cattle Decap was even around.

for me, my best grindcore bands are : Cripple Bastards, Agathocles, Dahmer, Catheter, Warsore and Ulcerrhoea

Isn't Disrupt more like Crust Punk than Grindcore or is there a GC band called Disrupt?

Nasum is alright, can get boring sometimes.

I agree about the hype. I little bit understand for the view from the scandinavian GC scene, but not for the whole international point of view.

I think it's just because the singer died. It's like how more people hype Nirvana/Pantera/Death now then then people did before because someone in the band died.
