| 1) What is the best microphone I can get if I'm a poor bastard who absolutely cannot spend any more than $50 on a mic, but I need one that will work straight into my PC (Or at least I can use an adapter to plug it into the PC for recording) and will also be able to be used with distortion such as a guitar distortion pedal or something.
2) What would be the best thing for me to use to get pitch-shifting as close to LDOH's Hymns of Indigestible Suppuration as possible?
Thanks in advance for any help.

| Sweet, I'll check that out. Thanks a lot, Ian.
Also, I guess I edited the second question in there a bit too late. Know anything about the second question?

I'm not all to happy about the effects on there! But you can make some bubbly liquid sounds on there with the monster effect. I'm going to start messing with it more over the next few weeks so if I get some good effects going I'll let you know what's up. I've had the processor for 3 years now and only used it about 10 times. Methadone Abortion Clinic uses that shifter by the way so I know it can make some sick effects.

| if you want a good dynamic vocal mic, *omnidirectional* is best. get a SHURE mic, they have a few under $50. i highly recommend a Shure, they are amazing mics. we use them all the time in my studio recording class. if not a Shure, a Yamaha or Sony mic will work just fine i am sure? | |

| Guitar Center is having a sale since it's labor day weekend, and a Shure SM48 (I think) is only like $29, so I'll definitely get that. | |

| Well they were all sold out when I got there and the only thing they had that I could afford was a Digital Reference DRV100, which I got. I also got an adaptor for my bass to go into the PC and a USB port for the mic. When I get some good money I'll definitely get the best Shure SM mic I can get.
As for the pitch-shifting, using "-50 Change" on Audacity's Pitch Changer option works fuckin' fantastic.
