| I know some of you are into Western films. Share some of your favorites, and explain why. Il Grande Silenzio - Sergio CorbucciSilence is probably the greatest Spaghetti hero of all, avenging the poor and facing death silently. This film is brutal, featuring everyhing from peasant masacres to dragging deaths. The ending is not happy, and there is no satisfying resolution. I'm a sucker for anything Klaus Kinski as well, and he is awesome as the sadistic villain Loco. If you like senseless violence this is for you. Silence's gun is really cool also, its some sort of handgun that can alternately be used as a rifle by attaching the holster - genius! Fistful of Dynamite aka Duck, You Sucker - Sergio LeoneThe premise of this film is just amazing - an ex Irish Republican Army bomber riding through Mexico is accosted by highwaymen, and tricks them into unwittingly becoming revolutionary heros. James Coburn and Rod Steiger make a great team on screen. I love the big weaponry on this one as well. There is one part where they use huge machine guns to fire on a convoy crossing a bridge, and then blow the bridge up anyway. | |

| Never saw many of them, but all the ones I did see had Clint Eastwood in them, and I remember liking them all. He's a pretty badass actor. I don't think anyone else would have been able to replace any of his parts. | |

I watched one called Keoma the other day. The movie and its soundtrack were not good, but the gunfights are spectacular: slow motion, view from behind bullet holes, etc. | |
