Kam Lee Retiring from music!!!!

"I've pretty much have decided that after 2012... that I will be putting my music career aside.
After almost 30 years of doing death metal - and the last few years trying to expand that into doing other 'guilty pleasures' of music styles such as 'horror punk' - that I'm feeling finally "tired" of it.

I've given more of myself these past few years - {since about 2005} - to the scene with very little satisfaction in return.
Disrespect - LIES- and over all bullshit from "haters" have worn thin on my patience.

I don't care to appease the masses... but I also don't like the fact that the masses believe the lies over the truths.

(One example: Wikipedia page on me - FULL of mistakes - and half truths, and not even been updated...
tried to go into it and change something... and I'm blocked out of my own page for some reason. - FUCK IT!-)

Too many FUCKERS have positions with-in the scene to make anything I do a positive expeirence anymore.

I'm not giving up the fight... I just don't CARE ANYMORE, because I really have nothing to fight for anymore.

The scene (esp. the death metal scene) is OVER RUN with posers... trendies... hypsters... shit talkers - fake and false fucks!
Money hungry promoters, back stabbing two faced elitist, crooked corperate runned labels, "pay offs" and "pay outs" to secure popularity in trendy magazines and just to be able to perform live and tour - illegal downloading - and people stealing our music - and just about every kind of selfish scum that can crawl out of the sewers of life have infiltrated the scene, and over run it with their own selfish needs.

THIS IS NOT THE "TRUE" UNDERGROUND ANYMORE!!!

And my battles have been fought with every ounce of hatefilled madness I can muster.
But it's like beating my bare fist against a brick wall... only - all that ever breaks and bleeds is me... and nothing but a small crack in the wall has been made!

I am no longer angry... I am just simply apathetic... as I said... I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!

I know and acknowledge that there are still some very GREAT people and friends in the scene out there... and I both respect and honor you all for being true and being friends.
But - the fight is out of me... I have no desire anymore for it.
I've watched the scene become a mockery of itself... and just can not be a apart of something I NO LONGER believe in myself.

I have some upcoming projects that I want to finish up... some fun times and great horror based musicians and bands that I would like to finish up before the END.

but the END is near... at least for me it is.

{FUCK OFF to the "haters" who will most likely revel in this NOTE... but know this - you didn't win - because I was never fighting your war to begin with.}

I wish to work more on my 'acting career' and work more towards my writing horror novels and movie scripts, and getting back to my artwork... try my hand at another horror themed projects in the future.
However, my time with music is ending, and as I said... it's because of many things... NOT just for the negative things I've mentioned above - but my own "personal fire" has died down - and the flame is burning out."

And it took him this long in life to find this out about the Mainstream Death Metal scene?! I never cared for Death Metal or Metal politics! I think it's disgusting how he's bitching about people illegal downloading and people stealing his music though! What do you expect.....your part of the mainstream underground.....which is right behind the corner from the Mall! Be happy these people/posers are even listening/downloading your tripe anyway after all these years! The scene is not losing a thing that matters in my opinion.

This is the fucking godfather of death metal, without him THERE WOULD'NT BE MODERN GRINDCORE. There would be no goregrind at all without this dude, Kam Lee is the shit and it's a shame that he's leaving the metal scene.

Not discrediting his career or accomplishments! I'm just saying Death Metal has always been easy to commercialize on and make money off of as where real grind and noise will never be in the mainstream light and about money! Those frustrations that Kam is having is due to the Death metallers themselves. And yes you are right about there being no Grindcore without the original pioneers.....but those pioneers are not from the Death Metal scene! Death Metal spawned from Thrash Metal, Noise and some early Black metal. If anything bands like Siege and Hellhammer set the stage for Grinds future more then death acts. More raw genres like Thrashcore, Powerviolence, Noise and Crust Punk had more influence on grind then Death Metal. I grew up on Oldschool South American Death Metal and always thought the American scene/sound was a little to simplistic for me to enjoy! Shit, I feel the same way about American Death Metal as how I feel about the old school Cail grind acts. Death Metal has and always will be commercial. I also hate when people throw Carcass and Napalm Death into the originators of Grindcore/Goregrind....they suck! but Napalm had some good stuff. Even Goat Vulva kinda influenced modern Porn Noise with his raw drunken black porno noise style. But Gore and porno themes have been around since the black metal days with bands like Morbid and Hellhammer so people can't say Death Metal alone started Gore and porno theme/styles of Grind. And I'll say this once again.....I'm not bashing death metal....I'm bashing the bullshit politics that the scene has spawned!

WHY cant idiots just fucking get this: if people can download your songs, more people will buy your albums.
Sadly, today you dont find bands through record stores anymore, you nee dto look no the internet. If you find a cool album,you always buy it (at least me) and im fucking glad of filesharing.. god knows how my life would look without it. Andh ow people call filesharing "stealing".. what exakt physicly has been stolen? NOTHING!!!
